RINKA

As a homage to the Rinpa school, which represents the decorative beauty of Japan, this series is named “RINKA,” inspired by the graphical portrayal of flowers by Ogata Korin.

It is based on the highest quality handmade “Echizen Washi,” adorned with genuine gold leaf and platinum leaf. Among them, the leaf used in RINKA is an extremely special material known as “Endzuke Kinpaku.”(Gold Leaf by means of Japanese Paper). The manufacturing technique for this leaf has been handed down for over 400 years in the ancient city of Kanazawa. Today, only a few artisans practice this craft, and in the case of platinum leaf, it is inherited by just one individual. Designated as a nationally selected preservation technique and registered as one of UNESCO’s Intangible Cultural Heritage under “Craftsmanship of Traditional Building Techniques: Preservation Techniques for Wooden Architecture.”
