A Common Occurrence
My night shift over, I stopped by a drugstore open late at night to buy some gargle medicine.
The first thing that leaped into my sight was a foliage plant placed in a corner of the store, brilliant under glowing fluorescent lights. This shop sells products that cure the human body, yet this foliage plant, unable to sleep, has probably grown limp day after day—I couldn’t bear it. Does anyone notice?
As long as we think in a human-first way, it’s a scene no one, probably, pays any mind to.
By nurturing and treating plants, too, as fellow living things, with consideration and care, people ought to be able to reach a healthier state of mind themselves—so I found my thoughts wandering to my ideal image of all living things.
Wait—what did I come into this shop to do again?
