Ripples

Throw a stone into the water. The beauty of the ripples that appear, marking time as they go, is ichigo-ichie — a once-in-a-lifetime meeting whose form you will never see again. Every encounter with a plant is ichigo-ichie too. I find myself realizing that plants and ripples share a splendid point of agreement.
