For the first time ever, “Itchiku Tsujigahana” floating on a sea of clouds made of fifty thousand stalks of susuki grass. Enfolding sorrow and suffering, and even grief and hatred, nature returns our hearts to the love of the mother universe. A sea of susuki that looks like a bridge joining heaven and earth. The vermilion brilliance floating there seems to me nothing less than the soul of Itchiku Kubota, descended from the heavenly realm. A work expressing how the prayer held within “Tsujigahana” resonates with the miraculous beauty born on this earth, and sounds through to the heavens beyond time and space.
